First Aid Response

BACKGROUND:
The course is for anyone wanting to learn how to recognise and care for people with life-threatening injuries before the arrival of healthcare practitioners. It is also for people who require basic first aid training as part of their job. This could include non-healthcare personnel, sports coaches, teachers and parents as a very small example.

WHO SHOULD DO IT:
There are currently no prerequisites for this course. Students should be physically well enough to carry out CPR as well as other practical skills, such as attempting to relieve the blockage in someone who is choking, placing somebody in the recovery position and putting bandages on injured limbs.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Discuss with our Office whether a 3 day full course, refresher or basic one day will be suitable for you and/or your organisation

Safety Officer Course (IOSH Managing Safely)

Fire Warden /Fire Marshal

BACKGROUND:
This course is designed for staff whom have a position of authority in relation to fire safety in the workplace. The member of staff should have a certain level of competency and our fire warden training course will provide the individual with the required level of knowledge and skill.

WHY DO IT:
Electing and training fire marshals / fire wardens is a highly popular way of maintaining a quality system of Fire Safety in the Workplace

Important Note
Fire Warden alone cannot completely eliminate fire risk. Companies need to risk assess and looks at all aspects of fire safety such as training staff in general fire safety, carry out fire drill exercises and maintaining proper signage and equipment such as Extinguishers. Training on the equipment and it’s inspection should be carried out at appropiate times by a competent person(s)

Safety Representative

BACKGROUND:
Employers are legally obliged to allow employees to elect a safety representative(s) for their particular department and if elected a three day course should be provided

WHO SHOULD DO IT:
Safety Rep forms the Important link between non safety personnel and the Safety Officer. To maximise effectiveness of the Safety Rep, a Safety Committee should be formed, managed and regular meetings should be organised with actioned items resulting from the Meetings.

IMPORTANT NOTE
This is not a Safety Officer course and this course is set up to aid a Safe System of Workplace Safety and provide fluency and drive efficiencies in workplace safety management.
