Job Title: Project Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer position. This is a 12-month contract, full-time role. This role is based in our Operations team at our Wexford factory in Ireland and reports to the Utilities and Facilities Manager

Outline of the Role:

The Project Engineer will lead in the execution of Masterplan, Facility, Efficiency/Improvement projects for the plant, from initial scoping of innovations/concepts through to CAPEX project implementation & execution. The role will involve technical support and equipment ownership while imbedding new and existing services into the Utilities & Facilities services team.

 

Project Execution by applying the Danone Continuous Improvement Manufacturing System (IWS) to manage all engineering activities within the plant ensuring all goals and targets are met within Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Motivation & Environment parameters. To achieve success in this position it is critical that the Project Engineer embraces the Danone CODES Focus Behaviours (Agile, Human Centric, Accountable & Decisive, Inclusive & Collaborate and Courageous with Empathy) within the factory.

With the full support of the Technical Manager and Utilities & Facilities Manager you will ensure that all Capex project KPI’s are met, and where possible exceeded. Project execution responsibility for compliance and adherence to site PRP & NNS standards with the support of the Engineering Team.

Project Management & Execution: Direct, review, and approve product design and changes. Analyse technology, resource needs, and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects. Prepare cost calculations, payback and budgets for various projects. Provide detailed project specifications, drawings and tender documents for capex requests and ensure Dango compliance. Execute the project to meet the goals of the site, reporting to up line management on delivery on time and in budget. Support vertical ramp-up of projects and detailed project handover to plant operations & maintenance teams including training. Identify gaps in Utilities & Facilities processes, build action plan for same. Other work as requested by the Utilities & Facilities Manager.

Project Engineering: Project engineering to ensure compliance of process designs / installations with applicable Corporate, Regulatory and GMP standards. Development and completion of URS, DQ, FAT, IQ, OQ, PAT, SAT protocols. Design, quality, health, safety and environmental best practice into each project and ensure that all project work is completed in a safe and environmentally friendly manner

Monitor Engineering Cost Targets: Manage the project engineering budget to include the assembly of yearly budgets, adhering to budgets, instigating cost improvement projects to reduce budget spend and management of the capital expenditure programme for the Plant.

Identify Engineering Deficiencies: Perform gap analysis to identify requirements that cannot be met and would prevent engineering from delivering on business plans/forecast. Develop plans to reconcile identified deficiencies in engineering capabilities.

Manage Resource Requirements: Schedule and plan resource requirements based on the project plan and schedule labour accordingly. Work with key personnel to optimise labour across the Team.

Build Sustainability through people: Exhibit passion for people growth, engage and coach other members of the engineering team, to achieve optimal company performance.

Project Design & Delivery: End to end project management, project conception, justification, through to completion. Development and completion of URS, DQ, FAT, IQ, OQ, PAT, SAT protocols. Support vertical ramp-up of project and project handover to plant operations team, including training.

IWS (Danone Continuous Improvement Manufacturing System): Embody the principles and philosophies of IWS – make IWS real on a daily basis through practicing, participating, owning and cascading the key principles (Zoning, SIM, Problem Solving, Continuous Improvement etc.)

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent) essential.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a high volume fast paced environment in FMCG, Manufacturing, or Pharmaceutical.
  • Proven track record of on time, on budget, project scope delivery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience of Utilities & Facilities Project execution, along with Energy Transformation projects, an advantage.
