Business Development Manager

Spearline is one of Ireland’s fasting growing tech companies (Deloitte Fast 50 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 &  2018 award winners) and the world’s largest toll and toll-free number testing provider.

Based in our Sales office in Arclabs, WIT Campus, Waterford and Reporting to the Chief Commercial  Officer, the Business Development Manager will play a key role in expanding our client portfolio  internationally. In order to develop an in-depth understanding of our product offering the role will  also require the successful candidate to build a solid working relationship with our technical teams  in our HQ in Skibbereen.

The key functions of the position will be to actively grow Spearline’s expanding list of Fortune 500  clients, by identifying and targeting sales opportunities and transforming them into real prospects.

The BDM will also maintain close relationships with key accounts in order to understand their  requirements and align them with Spearline solutions and services. The Role: 

  • Manage client lists and prospecting for new business
  • Deliver on agreed customer acquisitions, new business revenue and pipeline targets
  • Delivery of corporate sales presentations, solution proposals and responses to tenders
  • Maintain and present monthly and quarterly sales plans and provide accurate forecasting to  the business
  • Work preemptively to identify opportunities to grow year on year revenue
  • Monitor performance against gains and losses
  • Closely monitor competitor activity and developments in the sector
  • Work with the CCO, account management and marketing teams to develop tool kits  including corporate presentations, datasheets, collateral, case studies and proposal  templates
  • Represent the company at marketing events, conferences and meetings with prospects,  clients and partners both nationally and internationally
  • Work cohesively with other members of the sales team in the interest of achieving overall  team targets
  • Maintain and update a comprehensive and up-to- date list of clients and prospects
  • International travel will be required from time to time
  • Working to specific market local time zones will be required from time to time to close out  prospects

The Candidate:

  • 5 + years proven sales / business development
  • Excellent technical acumen in order to add value to customer discussions and translate  product strengths into business benefits
  • Deep commercial awareness and successful business management track record
  • Demonstrated experience of selling high-value contracts involving multiple decision makers
  • In-depth knowledge of the market and target operators
  • Experienced background in developing and managing commercial relationships
  • Proven track record of exceeding above and beyond targets
  • Ability to identify, qualify and close off new leads
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Able to influence both colleagues and clients
