Beat is delighted to announce the addition of Kilkenny-based animation studio Cartoon Saloon to this year's Fairytale Festival line-up. They'll be providing workshops for children showing how simple shapes can be used to create compelling characters and a pop-up cinema will be showing their Academy Award® nominated feature film, Song Of The Sea.
In 2010 the studio’s first feature film, The Secret of Kells, was nominated for an Academy Award® and in 2015 Tomm Moore’s follow up feature, Song of the Sea, garnered Moore a second Oscar® Nomination and a first nomination for Producer Paul Young. Season 2 of its multi award-winning Puffin Rock preschool series is currently being broadcast around the world.
Places at the workshop are extremely limited and can only be booked in conjunction with an admission ticket for The Fairytale Festival. The event takes place on July 23rd in the magical Shankill Castle in Paulstown, Kilkenny. More at beat102103.com/fairytale.
