YouTuber Jamal Edwards has passed away aged 31
The DJ, vlogger and author was the founder of SBTV, an online music platform that helped launch the careers of Dave, Ed Sheeran and Jessie J.
Since his death was announced last night, friends and collaborators have taken to social media to share their memories of a man that helped some of Britain's most popular artists become household names.
Friend and comedian Munya Chawawa posted his condolences on Twitter, writing: "To think how many dreams were fulfilled and how much potential was discovered because of your platform and work".
Speaking to the BBC in 2013, Jamal said the motive behind sharing artists to YouTube was to enable other friends to see them. He told the channel: "You can say my videos had mixed reviews to begin with, some people didn't get them, but others thought they were sick''.
No details on the cause of death have been released to date.
