Controversial housemate Winston McKenzie was the first celebrity to get the boot from the Big Brother house last night. He was evicted in a twist that saw the housemates choose which star to boot out.
Winston was battling against Nancy Dell'Olio and Strictly dancer Kristina Rihanoff in the public vote this week. However, Kristina was told by host Emma Willis that she had been saved. It came after she announced her pregnancy in the house the night before.
The housemates were then informed that they would be the ones to choose whether Winston or Nancy left. 13 of the housemates picked the former UKIP spokesperson to leave, with just one housemate, Irish model Jeremy McConnell, picking Nancy.
Host Emma Willis was lauded online for her tough interview with Winston, telling his that his views were “extremely offensive, Christian or not Christian that doesn’t come into it”.
He explained: “My comment was made in the heat of the moment, the press were on me, it was a general election and they got what they were looking for. So whatever comment I made at that time, it wasn’t something that was done from the heart. The simple fact is they portrayed it the way, however spiteful they wanted. I agree with my heartfelt feelings. I’m not going to change my mind, or the way I am.”
The reality show continues on TV3 each evening at 9pm.
