Marvel Studios are gearing up for another epic year!
After redefining superhero storytelling in 2021, thanks to their TV-style approach on Disney+, with series like Wandavison, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and Loki, and not to mention their epic Spider-Man movie No Way Home at the end of last year, 2022 looks to be another gigantic year for the MCU.
Marvel fans have already been treated to the first supernatural hero this year with the latest series Moonknight, and Dr Strange returns for his sequel this May, with Sami Raimi coming on board to direct Multiverse of Madness. (Raimi directed the original Tobey Maguire Spider-Man Trilogy)

But this summer, MCU fans can expect to be taken back into the 80s, as the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder film has been released.
This will be the fourth solo film for the God of Thunder, with Chirs Hemsworth playing the character as he did in Thor (2011), Thor: The Dark World (2013) and Thor: Ragnorak (2018).
The God from Asgard has also appeared in other movies across the MCU, including the first Avengers film in 2012, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, which is where the upcoming 2022 film picks up.

After the events of reversing the devasting snap of Thanos, Thor resigns as the King of Asgard, now located on Earth, and heads off with the Guardians of the Galaxy for a road/space trip, with Chris Pratt returning as Starlord, as well as the rest of the gang, Dave Bautista as Draxx, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket and Pom Klementieff as Mantis.
As with previous Thor trailers, Love and Thunder is accompanied by an iconic rock song, Guns 'N" Roses' Sweet Child O' Mine. The teaser sees Thor wanting to find his purpose in life, where he says his "superhero" days are done while working out and losing all that extra weight he gained in Endgame.
Teamed with the GOTG, it looks set to be an epic adventure, with Russel Crowe reportedly playing Greek god Zeus, and Christian Bale playing the villain, Gorr the God Butcher.
The main talking point of the teaser among fans was the first look at The Mighty Thor, as Natalie Portman returns to play Jane Foster, where she appears the be worthy of wielding Thor's hammer Mjolnir. It's yet to be confirmed why there are going to be two Thors in this film, although fans have said it could be a multiverse issue, with No Way Home bringing back past Spider-Mans and the film set to release two months after Dr Strange's Multivesreve of Madness.
Fans will just have to wait until July 8th 2022 to find, as Thor: Love and Thunder hits the big screen.
