From bizarre party pieces to ogling bachelors, Father Ted's Lovely Girls episode was more than just a backhand reference to the Rose of Tralee.
Craggy Island's exploits into the world of pageantry have become just as quotable as the episodes that went before and after it - but what happens when you bring that classic Father Ted phrase all the way to Tralee?
Will entire universe collapse in on itself in some form of sandwich making, lovely laugh-derived inception?
Well, not quite.
Still, Twitter had an absolute field day on it.
Speaking to Daithi, Waterford Rose Chloe McGrath said the unthinkable:
“I was lucky enough to be selected as the Waterford Rose to represent the lovely girls watching the show back at home.”
Yup, she really did reference Father Ted's Rock a Hula Ted.
Did she say "Lovely girls ..."? #RoseofTralee

Right. The Waterford Rose just said she representing 'lovely girls who are watching'.
Games up. #FrTed. #RoseOfTralee
