The "Santa Clause" is back, and this time he's in a series.
Tim Allen is reprising his role for "The Santa Clauses" a six-part series on Disney+, which tells the story of Santa Claus's retirement and his search for a successor.
Tim Allen's original movie "The Santa Clause" premiered in 1994, and told the story of Scott Calvin (Allen), a man who was forced to become the new Santa after accidentally causing his predecessor to slip from his roof. It was followed up by two sequels, The Santa Clause 2 and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause. Although the follow-ups received negative reviews, the trilogy has become a seasonal classic; indeed, "Santa" is one of Allen's best-known roles.
The new series returns to Santa Claus decades after his recruitment, on the cusp of his retirement. As he trains in a new Santa, things start to go pear-shaped, and he is forced to return to the North Pole to save Christmas
The first two episodes of “The Santa Clauses” will be released on Disney+ November 16. The remaining four episodes will release weekly, wrapping up before Christmas on December 14. Watch the trailer below.
