Sony has announced that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse: Part 1 has been delayed and will not hit cinemas on the proposed date of October 7th this year.
Instead, a new release date has been set for eight months later for the summer of 2023, on June 2nd while Sony also gave us a date that we never had for Part Two, March 29th 2024.
The animated film series introduced the character of Miles Morales to the big screen in 2018, a teenager from Brooklyn, New York who becomes Spider-Man. Miles also featured in Insomniacs Spider-Man PS4 as well as getting his own solo game on the PS5, Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
A shift in the multi-verse.

The 'new' superhero will also feature in the highly anticipated follow-up game Spider-Man 2 which comes out next year.
However, the character is yet to appear in a live-action Marvel film, and fans have speculated he could appear in the MCU sometime soon, with the character being confirmed in the universe offscreen in a deleted scene from the first MCU Spidey film, Homecoming, where Tom Holland plays the web-slinger, Peter Parker.
