What a time to be an RHCP fan!
After the long-awaited release of their first album with John Frusciante back in the band, Unlimited Love (April 1st), Red Hot Chili Peppers have announced another album is going to hit shelves later this year.
"Return of the Dream Canteen" is set for release on October 14th, packed with 17 tracks from the California band, making it the second album of theirs to release in 2022.
The band welcomed fan favourite guitarist John Frusciante back into the fold in 2019, and with Covid-19 impacting their initial plans, the band found that they had more time to write new material.

RHCP kicked off their American leg of their Unlimted Love world tour over the weekend, having just completed their spell of gigs in Europe stopping off at Dublin's Marlay Park on June 29th.
The band played in Denver, where they announced the news to fans that a new album is coming this year.

Red Hot Chili Peppers said they had more songs "that they knew what to do with" after finishing Unlimted Love, so now a double album is on its way!
"We went in search of ourselves as the band that we have somehow always been. Just for the fun of it we jammed and learned some old songs. Before long we started the mysterious process of building new songs."
"A beautiful bit of chemistry meddling that had befriended us hundreds of times along the way. Once we found that slipstream of sound and vision, we just kept mining. With time turned into an elastic waist band of oversized underwear, we had no reason to stop writing and rocking."

According to reports, a new single is set to release this week on Friday, titled "Tippa My Tongue" with fans already putting their minds to work and receiving the full album tracklist.
