The dad of rapper Nicki Minaj has died over the weekend after a hit-and-run in New York.
Robert Maraj, who was 64, had been walking in Long Island on Friday evening when he was hit by the car, which then continued on its journey.
Maraj had been taken to hospital but died a short time later on Saturday.
Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash and the homicide department is investigating the case.
A representative for Minaj confirmed the death to TMZ, although she has not made a public statement.
The news comes just four months after Nicki celebrated the birth of her first child.

Nicki shared the news of the birth of her son on Instagram expressing her love for those who welcomed children to the world during the pandemic.
"Becoming a mom is by far the most fulfilling job I’ve ever taken on.
"Sending love to all the superhero mothers out there.
"Big hugs to all the women who have been pregnant during this challenging time."
