New Spider-Man poster confirms the return of Green Goblin

Oh look, Little Goblin Jr.? Gonna Cry?

The suspense for the new Spider-Man film is building fast, ever since the first teaser trailer was released back in August.

Ever since the movie got its title, Spider-Man No Way Home rumors have been spread across the web (pun not intended) about the return of former live-action Spider-Men, the OG Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield.

While there is no confirmation yet as to whether the actors will feature in the film, rumors also spread about former villains making a return, with Alfred Molina's Doc Ock from 2004's Spider-Man 2 revealed at the end of August's teaser trailer.

While Willem Defoe has yet to speak out about the film, it's expected that he will return as Green Goblin, and fans are convinced he is!

A familiar spooky laugh echoed as a pumpkin bomb rolled onto our screens in the same teaser with Doc Ock, but fans were left to make up their own minds.

That is until today, as a new Spider-Man No Way Home poster was released, and if you look closely you'll spot a familiar face.

Tom Holland also shared the poster to his own Insta Grid saying that Verified "This movie is gonna blow your minds. Trust me!"

The poster actually reveals a lot, with the arms of Doc Ock, a shot of a lightning bolt (hinting at the return of Jamie Foxx's Electro), and a few grains of sand (maybe the return of Sandman from Spider-Man 3)

But if you zoom in you can see Green Goblin floating in the background, in the exact same costume as Willem Defoe's debut as the character in 2002.

Even the official Spider-Man account on Twitter urged fans to check it out.

Fans are expecting a second trailer for the film this week, with many hoping to see the characters return in some new footage.

Spider-Man No Way Home is due in Irish cinemas from December 17th.
