Lady Gaga has said she's spent years finessing her 'Top Gun: Maverick' record.
'Hold My Hand' is due to drop on May 3rd. The Oscar winner is releasing the song which is part of the soundtrack to the Top Gear sequel.
In 'Top Gun: Maverick' Tom Cruise reprises his role as Captain Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell from the original 80s blockbuster.
The 'Rain On Me' hitmaker has said the new song is a "love letter to the world during and after a very hard time."
When I wrote this song for Top Gun: Maverick, I didn’t even realize the multiple layers it spanned across the film’s heart, my own psyche, and the nature of the world we’ve been living in. I’ve been working on it for years, perfecting it, trying to make it ours. pic.twitter.com/1GReWGW8Ql

Speaking on social media, Lad Gaga said: “When I wrote this song for Top Gun: Maverick, I didn’t even realize the multiple layers it spanned across the film’s heart, my own psyche, and the nature of the world we’ve been living in.
“I’ve been working on it for years, perfecting it, trying to make it ours. I wanted to make music into a song where we share our deep need to both be understood and try to understand each other – a longing to be close when we feel so far away and an ability to celebrate life’s heroes."
Even before its release, 'Hold My Hand' is already being tipped for a potential Best Original Song Oscar at the 2023 Academy Awards.
Lady Gaga: The Chromatica Ball comes to London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Friday 29th and Saturday 30th July 2022.
