Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey has appeared before the Westminster Magistrates Court via video link to face seven new sex offence charges.
The Mirror UK reports that the actor is accused of sexually assaulting a male victim between 2001 and 2004. He faces seven charges in total relating to this victim, three of sexual assault, three of indecent assault, and one count of causing a person to engage in a sexual activity without consent.
Spacey, 63, is currently in the Middle East and was granted permission to appear before the court via digital link. He appeared in a dark suit, confirming his full name, date of birth and current address.
The Mirror states that the prosecutor in the case, Zoe Martin, said: The prosecution position is these offences are related to an indictment only matter that was previously sent to the Crown Court in respect of which this defendant is due to stand trial on June 6 next year."
There have already been five other allegations made against Spacey relating to sexual offences, against three other men, now aged in their 30s and 40s.
In July of this year, the actor pleaded not guilty to all of these five counts.
Now, the Oscar winner reportedly faces twelve criminal charges in total for sexual misconduct, relating to four different men, between the years 2001 and 2013.
Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring, who had given Spacey permission to appear via video link, granted the actor unconditional bail today ahead of his next appearance at Southwark Crown Court on January 13 2023.
