English singer-songwriter Jessie J has revealed that she spent Christmas Eve in hospital after finding herself deaf in one ear and unable to walk properly.
The Domino singer has shared with her Instagram followers that she had been diagnosed with Ménière's disease (Tinnitus)-a disorder of the inner ear that can lead to dizzy spells (vertigo) and hearing loss.
She posted on her Instagram "I woke up and felt like I was completely deaf in my right ear, couldn't walk in a straight line."Basically I got told I had Ménière's syndrome. I know that a lot of people suffer from it and I've actually had a lot of people reach out to me and give me great advice, so I've just been laying low in silence."
The singer, whose real name is Jessica Cornish, wrote that even though she was missing company, she is very grateful to be in better heath "I just miss singing so much and being around anyone...It could be way worse, it is what it is. I'm super-grateful for my health. It just threw me off."
She added that she had a "big cry" and that it's "important to let it out and let yourself feel"..."Sending LOVE to everyone who needs it, is or isn't' alone," she wrote.
According to the HSE, Ménière's disease or Tinnitus is a symptom that can be caused by a wide range of different health conditions, many of which are easily treatable, and if you are having problems with your hearing, it is important you see your GP.
