It was December 1989 when a family of yellow cartoon characters burst onto our TV screens and became a cultural phenomenon. 29 seasons later and they're still here, with no suggestion that they're going anywhere soon.
Back when it first began, the creators looked to expand on the success of the TV show with merchandising opportunities. One of those was an album called The Simpsons Sing The Blues, with one of the songs being the brainchild of megastar Michael Jackson and his songwriting pal Bryan Loren. That song was Do The Bartman and it became a huge hit, reaching number 1 around the world including 9 weeks at the top spot in Ireland.
The song was performed by the voice of Bart Simpson, Nancy Cartwright, with Jackson performing backing vocals although he didn't receive credit for his appearance.
The Beat Breakfast team looked back at Do The Bartman on this morning's show.
