Jada Pinkett Smith responds to The Academy after her proposed boycott

Jada Pinkett Smith has responded to the Academy after pondering a boycott of this year's Oscars for the lack of diversity in the nominations.

"I would like to express my gratitude to the Academy, specifically Cheryl Boone Isaacs, for such a quick response in regard to the issue at hand," the actress wrote on her Facebook page Tuesday.

Pinkett Smith, 44, was referencing Boone Isaacs' official statement on the matter, where she said she was "both heartbroken and frustrated" at the situation.
