Debbie Ridgard

    A proud Tramore woman, Debbie has always had a passion for music, entertainment and of course talking. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Spanish and French from Waterford Institute of Technology and has a Masters in TV and Radio Journalism from Griffith College Dublin. Previously, Debbie has worked as an English teacher in Spain and with local radio station WLR. Starting as an intern at Beat in 2016, Debbie has shown her versatile nature moving on to be a Team Leader on the Beat Fleet, Prizes Co-ordinator, Job Finder Sales Representative and part-time News and Sports Journalist. In July 2018, Debbie was asked to join the news department on a full-time basis as a Multi-platform journalist. Debbie is the main presenter of Beat’s Saturday sports show, SportsBeat and became Beat’s first mobile journalist. In fact, Debbie’s skills as a mobile journalist saw her take on an additional role as lecturer of Mobile Media at Griffith College Dublin in 2018. Debbie was shortlisted for Best Newcomer at the 2018 IMRO awards and was part of the team that got bronze for News Programme Local/ Regional.
