The Department of Health have tonight confirmed a seventh death in the Republic of Ireland from COVID-19.
The patient was a male and in the east of the country, with an underlying condition.
A further 204 new cases of the novel coronavirus have also been confirmed by the department at a briefing this evening, bringing the total number of cases here to 1,329.
To date, 17,992 tests have been carried out in laboratories across the country, as of midnight last night.
55% are male, 45% are female, with 44 clusters involving 243 cases
The median age of the confirmed cases is 45 years
277 cases (29%) have been hospitalised, of those, 36 were admitted to ICU
A fifth person has also died in Northern Ireland from COVID-19.
Stormont's Department of Health said that the patient, in her 80s, died in Antrim Area Hospital.
Earlier, stricter social restrictions were announced by government, including a complete ban on outdoor meetings of more than four people.
The government will also commit to a €4 billion package for businesses over the next few weeks.
While the COVID emergency payment is to be increased to €350 a week – as will illness benefit with the chance for companies to top that up further.
The 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic games have also been postponed until 2021, while the Ladies Gaelic Football Association have cancelled the Lidl Ladies National Football Leagues.
