The new Irish drama, Normal People, based on Sally Rooney’s novel has become our newest TV obsession and it's now gone away and broken streaming records on the BBC iPlayer.
In its first week, the gripping new show received an impressive 16.2 million views on the platform.
Lenny Abrahamson, who directed the 12-part drama, described the record-breaking viewing figures as “hard to process.”
The series stars Kildare newcomer Paul Mescal in his first television role as Connell, and the more-experienced British actress Daisy Edgar Jones in the role of Marianne.
Normal People returns to RTÉ One tonight at 10.15pm and you can stream the whole series on Hulu and BBC iPlayer.
