Jan Stafford
Jan joined the team in 2022, bringing a wealth of experience with her to the newsroom. Having started her career locally in radio stations in Waterford and Wexford Jan reported on local and national stories such as the sinking of the Pere Charles off the South East coast, the murders of Wexford woman Rebecca French and Waterford woman Meg Walsh. Jan then went on to Dublin to work with INN where she compiled stories for local radio stations around the country and broadcasting hourly bulletins. She also covered many more high profile cases in the Central Criminal and High Court along with breaking national stories such as the nationalisation of Anglo Irish Bank. She has reported many times from the European Parliament in Strasbourg and has a vast knowledge of both political and current affairs here and abroad. Jan has now working closer to her hometown of Wexford as she puts her strong news sense to good use bringing fair, balanced and trustworthy stories to Beat listeners.
